To receive Audit.org’s certification a website must meet the following Criteria:

1. The website must include a home page link to A PRIVACY POLICY, including the following disclosures:
   • What Consumer Information is collected and how it will be used
   • The use of cookies or other tracking technology
   • How Consumer Information is shared with partners
   • Whether Consumer Information is matched and supplemented with data from other sources (like credit bureaus or data integrity services)
   • That there are security measures in place
   • Procedures for filing and addressing consumer complaints
2. The website must meet Audit.org’s accountability standards including:
   • Agreements that hold partners to the same or higher standards of privacy for personal health and financial information as the Audit.Org certified site
   • A requirement that all participating financial professionals attest to their good standing as to licensing status, disciplinary history and financial stability before receiving referrals from the website.
   • A policy that, where appropriate, personally identifiable information will be shared only with properly licensed professionals and their associates solely for the purpose of providing consumers with quotations, referrals, advice or information related to their online request.
   • Guarantee that the website operator will not resell personally identifiable information, individually or in bulk to third parties for the purposes of general solicitation and marketing outside of the scope of the original inquiry.
3. The website must participate in Audit.org’s dispute resolution program or similar approved watchdog system
   • The website will include a contact page clearly linked from the homepage with accurate, comprehensive contact information for appropriate web site employees
   • The website will prominently display a link to Audit.Org’s dispute resolution system on all contact pages and clearly state that the website and its operators consent to independent third party mediation of all conflicts.
4. The website must commit provide Transaction Data Security
   • The website agrees to use commercially reasonable best practices in the collection and maintenance of data security systems.
   • While the website can, at its discretion, use standard, unencrypted http forms to collect basic quote data, secure data such as social security numbers should be collected only on secure systems and stored only on systems not directly connected to the public internet.
   • If Consumer information is made available through a web interface for review or update by the consumer or by participating financial professionals it should require strong password protections securing the data.
5. The website must commit to meet Audit.org’s availability standards
   • The website will include a contact page clearly linked from the homepage with accurate, comprehensive contact information for appropriate web site employees.
   • The contact information will include a direct dial phone number at which consumers can reach customer service representatives during standard business hours for the U.S. market.
   • If voice mail or other automated system is used to field or route incoming customer service calls, the website guarantees that a customer service representative will return the call within 24 hours.
   • The contact information will include a direct email address which is delivered and reviewed and answered by an actual human in the customer service department within 1 business day of receipt.
6. The website must meet Audit.orgs integrity standards.
   • The website commits that all marketing materials are accurate, compliant and reflect an honest, open approach to business. The website commits that commercially reasonable efforts will be made to deliver products and services as promised, on time and as represented. The website and its operators commit to treat consumers fairly, courteously and pleasantly.
   • When consumers seeking financial products and services submit their information and request a price quotation through websites prominently displaying the Audit.org logo, they can be confident that their personal information will be used only for purposes of generating the quotes requested.
   • The participating Audit.org certified site agrees to verify this consumer information and share that information only with its recommended providers of those financial products and services.
